This frame tutorial was made with PSP7 but can be created in earlier versions too ... This page is graphic intense so please be patient while this page loads ...

Jasc Paint Shop Pro Woman Image I used PSP Mask Plug-in Filter / DSB Flux
~ Instructions ~
1. Open Image and Mask up in PSP ... Minimize Mask
2. Set Foreground color to a gold color ... I used #B69E71
3. Layers / New Raster Layer to your main image
4. Masks / New / From Image with the following settings:
5. Masks / Delete
6. Effects / 3D Effects / Drop Shadow with the following settings:
7. Layers / Merge / Merge All (Flatten)
8. Switch Foreground & Background colors at the top
9. Effects / Plug-in Effects / dsb flux / Bright Noise
10. Effects / 3D Effects / Inner Bevel with the following settings:
11. Selections / Invert
12. Effects / 3D Effects / Cutout with the following settings:
13. Switch Foreground & Background colors at the top
14. Effects / Geometric Effects / Punch with the following settings:
15. Effects / Reflection Effects / Rotating Mirror
16. Image / Add Borders / Symmetric Checked / 18
17. Effects / Texture Effects / Fine Leather with the following settings:
18. Effects / 3D Effects / Inner Bevel with the following settings:
19. Selections / Select None and we're all done

Set Background color to a dark color from your image ... I used #702C2B
Flood Fill..
..with the gold color
Effects / Plug-in Effects / dsb flux / Bright Noise
Intensity: 40 ~ Direction: Mix

When it asks "Would you like this mask merged into the current layer?" Answer Yes
Effects / Sharpen / Sharpen
Apply Sharpen effect again

Image / Add Borders / Symmetric Checked / 5
(This border should be your gold color
With the Magic Wand..
..click on the new border
Intensity: 40 ~ Direction: Mix
Effects / Sharpen / Sharpen


Image / Add Borders / Symmetric Checked / 20
(This border should be your dark color
With the Magic Wand..
..click on the new border

Horizontal Offset: 0 ~ Rotation Angle: 180
Effects / Sharpen / Sharpen
Apply Sharpen effect again
To get a clean selection go to Selections / Select All
Selections / Modify / Contract / 24
Selections / Invert
