Gardendale Designs ~ PSP Tutorial ~ Ornamental Corner Frame

This frame tutorial was made with PSP7 but can be created in earlier versions too ...
Earlier versions may not have the fine leather effect used in this tutorial but the
frame can be accomplished without it.

Jasc Paint Shop Pro
You can download a fully functional 30 day trial version ... Here

Floral Image & Corner Decoration
You can download both of these ... Here
Unzip and then open in PSP

Plug-in Filter / DSB Flux
You can download the filter ... Here
Unzip and install into your PSP Plug-in Filter folder

~ Instructions ~

1. Open Image and Corner Decoration up in PSP

2. Set Foreground color to a dark color from your image ... I used #75170D
Set Background color to a gold color ... I used #B69E71

3. Image / Add Borders / Symmetric Checked / 5
(This border should be the gold color)
With the Magic Wand .... click on the new border
Effects / Plug-in Effects / dsb flux / Bright Noise
Intensity: 40 ~ Direction: Mix
Effects / Sharpen / Sharpen ...

4. Effects / 3D Effects / Inner Bevel with the following settings:

Inner Bevel Settings

5. Switch Foreground and Background colors at the top
Image / Add Borders / Symmetric Checked / 20
(This border should be your dark color)
With the Magic Wand .... click on the new border

6. Effects / Geometric Effects / Punch / 32

7. Effects / Sharpen / Sharpen
Image / Add Borders / Symmetric Checked / 10
(This border should be your dark color)
With the Magic Wand .... click on the new border

8. Effects / Texture Effects / Fine Leather with the following settings:

9. Effects / 3D Effects / Inner Bevel with the following settings:

10. Repeat the Inner Bevel effect
Switch Foreground and Background colors at the top
Image / Add Borders / Symmetric Checked / 5
(This border should be the gold color)
With the Magic Wand .... click on the new border

11. Effects / Plug-in Filters / dsb flux / Bright Noise
Intensity: 40 ~ Direction: Mix
Effects / Sharpen / Sharpen

12. Effects / 3D Effects / Inner Bevel with the following settings:

13. Switch Foreground and Background colors at the top
Image / Add Borders / Symmetric Checked / 5
(This border should be your dark color)
With the Magic Wand .... click on the new border

14. Effects / Texture Effects / Fine leather
Use the same settings as in Step 8

15. Switch Foreground and Background colors at the top again
Image / Add Borders / Symmetric Checked / 5
(This border should be the gold color
With the Magic Wand .... click on the new border

16. Effects / Plug-in Filters / dsb flux / Bright Noise
Intensity: 40 ~ Direction: Mix
Effects / Sharpen / Sharpen

17. Effects / 3D Effects / Inner Bevel
Use the same settings as in Step 12
Selections / Select None

18. Make the Corner Decoration the active image (click on title bar of image)
Edit / Copy
Make your Main Image active
Edit / Paste / As New Layer and position in upper left corner
Edit / Paste / As New Layer - Image / Mirror and position in upper right corner
Edit / Paste / As New Layer - Image / Flip and position in lower left corner
Edit / Paste / As New Layer - Image / Flip - Image / Mirror and position in lower right corner

19. Layers / Merge / Merge All (Flatten) and we're all done :-)
